USDA/1890 Liaison Officer Program consists of USDA employees who are assigned to the 1890 institutions as USDA representatives. They provide interagency coordination, recruit high school students, and foster better communication between the institutions and USDA. The liaison officers also coordinate programs of curriculum development, recruit and counsel students on USDA employment opportunities and develop new approaches to reach small-scale, limited-resource and minority farmers.
